Hello there again Gummy Bears!!

Ms. Armstrong is now teaching us the properties of quadrilaterals over the past few days. There are many different shapes. There are lots and lots of them scattered all around the universe and you can learn some of them that are just around you. Now we're looking at 4-sided shapes called Quadrilaterals.

Quadrilaterals ALWAYS have 4 sides.

Here are the quadrilaterals you should know by now:

1. Square
2. Rhombus
3. Rectangle
4. Parallelogram
5. Trapezoid
6. Trapezium
7. Kite
Now, let's have a glance on these shapes, starting with Square.

Square

A square has 4 Equal Sides and forming right angles (Right Angle= 90 degrees). This implies that opposite sides are parallel and that the diagonals perpendicularly bisect each other and are of equal length.

Rhombus

A rhombus has 4 equal sides. This indicates that opposite sides are parallel. The opposite angles are equal and the diagonals perpendicularly bisect each other.

Rectangle

A rectangle has 4 right-angled sides. This denotes that opposite sides are parallel and have equal length. It also means that the diagonals bisect each other and have equal length.

Parallelogram

A parallelogram has both pairs of opposite sides parallel to each other. This means that opposite sides have equal length. It also means that the angles are equal and that the diagonals bisect each other.

Trapezoid

A trapezoid has one parallel side.

Trapezium

A trapezium has no parallel side.

Kite

A kite has two pairs of sides next each other that has equal measurements of length. but non of these sides are parallel.
If you are still having difficulties in learning these quadrilaterals and their properties, please view the videos I searched and maybe it can help you more. Ms Armstrong assigned Exercise# 28.

anthony,
your classmates are fortunate to have you updating the blog regularly. Your explanations are extremely descriptive and accurate. The diagrams do an excellent job of emphasing key concepts. Keep up the good work, and encourage your classmates to assist with the daily upkeep.
