Hello Fellow Bloggers

Today I am going to take a look at different shapes and definitions so you can completely understand what they mean and how to recognize them.

Lets begin.

Blue Words are Definitions
Green words are important points of interest.

Shapes

1) Square - a shape which has 4 equal sides, four right angles and Parallel opposite sides.

2) Rhombus - A quadrilateral (4 Sided) shape in which all four sides are even, like the square.

3) Rectangle - A quadrilateral (4 Sided) shape, where all four of its angles are right angles. Only opposite sides of a Rectangle are the same.

4) Parallelogram - A quadrilateral (4 Sided) shape where opposite sides are equal and opposite angles are congruent.

Now that you have seen some of the shapes we will be working with. Lets take a look at some important definitions.

Definitions

1) Consecutive - 2 Angles that are beside each other. A+B, B+D, D+C and C+A

2) Bisect - Term used when cutting a line into 2 equal pieces
3) Perpendicular - Term used when there is a Intersect at a 90 degree angle.

4) Congruent - Same size

5) Diagonal - A Line that connects opposite angles in a shape.

6) Supplementary - Adds up to 180 degrees.

I hope you all learned some more after reading this and now understand the terms and what the different shapes look like. Good luck in the future

Respected and Dear Math Magicians, thanks a lot for making a difference with wonderful ideas about how to teach Maths. The Math and Geometry is a sacred topic as is Physics. I write about how to teach Math and Physics in the context:
